African Golden Cat and IUCN.

Hi! It is Friday finally! I am going to tell you about a big cat and a very important organization for nature!

African Golden Cat  (Profelis aurata) is wild cat that lives in tropical forests in Kenya, Senegal, Central African Republic and Angola. It is 62 to 101 centimeters or 24 to 40 inches long and weights about 8 to 14 kilos or 18 to 35 lbs.




African Golden Cat eats birds, monkeys, duikers, hogs and antelopes. It can be spotted with heavy black spots or it can be without spots at all. This cat has got white areas around the eyes, cheeks, chin and throat.

These cats live up to 12 years in captivity. They are very rare now.
