Marine iguana and ASPCA.

Hi! Today I am going to tell about amazing animal and organization that is supporting animal adoption.

Marine Iguana (Amblyrhynchus cristatus) lives only on Galapagos Islands and these islands are protected by WWF. This iguana can dive over 10 metres or 30 ft into the water and it live by the ocean that's why it is called marine iguana.

Marine iguana is black or gray. They eat marine algae. Males are about 1.7 meters or 5.6 ft long but females are about 0.6 to 1 meter or 2 to 3.3 ft long. They weighs about 1.5 kilos or 3.3 lbs.

On land this animal is very clumsy but it is a great swimmer. The only way to get seaweed or algae is to swim deep into the ocean.

Sometimes in a period called El Niño, when there is no food for marine iguanas, they can decrease their length for about 20%!

ASPCA or The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is against brutality and cruelty to animals.

This organization was made in 1866 by Henry Bergh. ASPCA supports adoption and donation to pet houses. This is the first and one of the biggest organizations in North America!

ASPCA helps injured animals and helps to arrest and to accuse people who are cruel to animals. This organization provides local and national leadership in three key areas: caring for pet parents and pets, providing positive outcomes for at-risk animals and serving victims of animal cruelty.
